Flat / a One Woman Cabaret (2021)

This solo is about a woman that dresses up as many things. An associative voyage into her consciousness. In the process, I brought to the studio diary-like texts in which a woman spoke out of me. When I recorded them, giving her a voice, I breathed life into secret fantasies. The woman I am is indecisive, inconsistent, imperfect, confused but determined to kill everything including her own body. She is an independent character but merges with my mom, with my psychologists, with Sally Bowles from Cabaret, and with Zohar Wagner. Since my infancy I’ve sought woman models to embody. When I encountered Zohar Wagner I thought I had found what I was looking for, but instead I crashed head-on into the term "woman". Over the process of making this solo I came to embrace myself within the term non-binary. This definition helps me accept my gender identity as a dynamic process, that validates feelings of dysphoria and alienation without striving for an unequivocal solution.
